This seems to be the season of U-turns and the BJP, Chandrababu Naidu and KCR are leading from the front.
The TRS has openly stated in Parliament that it will oppose SCS to Andhra Pradesh unless they were also accorded the same.
Naturally, this reasoning has been motivated by the BJP which can decline SCS to AP saying TS will also be have to be given the facility.
But, back home in Telangana, there is a significant presence of Andhras in Telangana and these people are highly dismayed at TRS blocking the progress of Andhra even after Telangana was formed with Hyderabad’s revenue being given to them. Naturally, the TRS will not get any of these people’s votes.
Yesterday, speaking to the media, KCR ridiculed Uttam Kumar Reddy’s plans to give a significant number of tickets for the 2019 polls to Andhra people settled in Hyderabad.
“All people living in Hyderabad are Telanganites and it is Uttam Kumar who is dividing the people by referring to them as settlers,” said KCR.
The Andhras can influence the outcome of the elections in many constituencies, especially in Hyderabad and while the TDP on its own may not create any impact on the TRS vote-bank, in conjunction with the Congress, they can cause quite a few problems for the TRS provided both the Parties come to such an understanding.
