KCR's Publicity Plan Goes For Toss!

KCR's Publicity Plan Goes For Toss!

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao/s grandiose plan to get massive publicity for the inauguration of new districts on Dasara festival on Tuesday has gone for a toss.

Normally, Dasara is a major festival and all media houses in the state declare it as a closed holiday, which is announced well in advance.

But KCR is learnt to have brought pressure on all media houses to keep their offices open on Dasara, since he wanted that the opening of new districts on the festival day will get massive coverage in all the districts.

Though some media managements agreed to his request, majority of the print media houses refuse to yield because of the importance of the festival.

And even in the newspaper offices which obliged their demand, the machine section workers have refused to work on Dasara; and even if the managements wanted to hire temporary workers, the newspaper hawkers have declared that they do not lift the newspapers the following day.

As a result, no print media in Telangana will be working on Dasara to give publicity for KCR’s plan of launching new districts.

The only solace is that electronic media offices work on Dasara day and they might give publicity to KCR programme. Yet, people in the festive mood might not be willing to watch the news programmes!
