Venkayya Naidu is increasingly worried over his Rajya Sabha re-nomination. For starters, the BJP is not really keen on fielding him for a fourth term as part of its policy.
Even if they make an exception in the case of Venkayya Naidu, the problem is where should he seek re-nomination from?
As of now, he is representing Karnataka but the changed political scenario in that Assembly means he can no longer represent them.
In Andhra, Nirmala Seetharaman is keen on seeking re-nomination. But it is now rumored that KCR in an attempt to build bridges with the BJP as well as Chandrababu has offered Venkayya Naidu, a slot from Telangana.
Apparently, KCR told Venkayya that the latter was a national leader and should he chose to seek nomination from Telangana, his victory is a certainty. Last heard, Venkayya Naidu was screaming in delight!
