KCR's 24x7 free power to farmers: Real or fake?

KCR's 24x7 free power to farmers: Real or fake?

BRS President and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao always boasts about Telangana being the only state in the country to provide 24x7 free power to farmers.

Every day, BRS ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs, and other leaders repeat these claims. However, doubts have always lingered in people's minds about whether these claims are real or fake.

Thanks to TPCC chief Revanth Reddy, whose recent "hasty statement" in the US suggested that there is no need for 24-hour free power for agriculture in Telangana, and that 3 hours of free power is sufficient to cover over 90 percent of farmers in Telangana who own up to three acres each, the debate on 24-hour free power has once again taken center stage. This has also sparked a fierce political battle between BRS and Congress.

The political slugfest has escalated to the point where Congress leaders started visiting sub-stations in villages to examine the power supply details recorded in the "log books" maintained by power staff at these sub-stations.

Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy obtained log book details from a sub-station in a village in Bhongir district in an attempt to "expose" that only 11 hours of free power were being provided to farmers, contradicting BRS leaders' claims of 24-hour power supply. This caused significant embarrassment to KCR and KTR.

In response, KCR and KTR allegedly instructed power staff at sub-stations to seize the log books, hide them, and not share the details with anyone.

If the KCR government was truly providing 24-hour power to farmers, there would be no need for them to seize and conceal the log books at sub-stations.

This action has given opposition parties and the general public reason to believe that hiding the log books has exposed the false claims of the BRS government regarding 24-hour free power to agriculture.
