Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao is trying to put up an aggressive posture on contesting elections alone without any alliance with the Congress, but heart in hearts, he knows that it is not so easy.
Apparently worried over the reports that the Congress high command is roping in Telangana Joint Action Committee leaders like Prof M Kodandaram and Devi Prasad, who command a lot of popularity among the people and the employees, the TRS president quickly moved his pawns and is now trying to woo them into the TRS.
On Wednesday, KCR invited Kodanda and Devi Prasad to the Telangana Bhavan and held hectic parleys with them.
He promised the two with good positions if they joined the party. However, they are understood to have declined to contest elections. No wonder, they have not forgotten the insults heaped on them by KCR in the past, when the agitation was at its peak.
In fact, KCR had once boycotted Kodandaram on the ground that he had failed to support the TRS in the Mahbubnagar byelections. Since then, they have not been in good terms.
