Former minister and Congress leader D Sridhar Babu said on Tuesday that the power crisis could have averted if the Chief Minister has taken steps as early as in June of this year to purchase the power.
He said that the Chief Minister did not hold a review meeting on the power in the early stages and led the power sector into a crisis. “He should have thought of a solution,” the former minister told in a press release.
Sridhar Babu said that the Chief Minister would have approached the Centre in June itself seeking assistance in power supply improvement. He alleged that the arrogant attitude of the Chief Minister prevented him from that.
The former minister said that even Central Energy minister Piyush Goel said that the state should have apprised the power situation in the state so that they could help.
Sridhar Babu said that if the power situation remains the same, how the industrialists would come forward to make investments in the state. He alleged that the Chief Minister was just playing to the galleries in the past six months.
He said that as the government paid only a quarter of the total amount of the crop loans to the banks and the farmers were not given fresh loans.
Sridhar Babu said that the Chief Minister and ministers were still in agitation mood and neglecting the governance thus forcing the people into grave situation.
