If at all there are any constituencies in Telangana, where the Telangana Rashtra Samithi is assured of a victory, they are: Gajwel, Siddipet and Siricilla, from where TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, his nephew T Harish Rao and son K T Rama Rao.
At least in Gajwel and Siricilla, KCR and his son are facing some tough competition from Congress candidates, though both the father and son will win comfortably.
But in Siddipet, Harish Rao virtually does not have any contenders, as the opposition parties could not find any suitable candidates who can take on KCR’s nephew.
The Congress conveniently avoided contest in Siddipet and allotted the same to TJS, which fielded an NGO activist.
So, there is no need for a leader of KCR’s stature to campaign for the TRS in Siddipet or Siricilla. Instead, he can concentrate on addressing public meetings in other constituencies, where the TRS is weak.
Moreover, there is every possibility of KCR being criticised for campaigning for his family members, ignoring other candidates.
Yet, KCR has chosen to address public meetings in Siddipet and Siricilla on Tuesday. Harish Rao has been entrusted with the task of mobilising more than one lakh people for the meeting at Siddipet, which will also cover Dubbak constituency.
May be KCR thought he can ignite the Telangana self-respect spirit once again in these constituencies, which had witnessed massive movements during the Telangana agitation.
In any case, it is a waste of time and energy for KCR to concentrate on Siddipet and Siricilla.
May be he has sensed some negative feedback here due to resentment among people of Mallannasagar reservoir submergence villages.
