After returning from the foundation stone laying function of Amaravati on Vijaya Dasami day, Telangana Chief Minister is said to be spending sleepless nights.
The kind of publicity and the political mileage his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu got was definitely an eyesore for KCR.
So, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi president is understood to have decided to conduct “Maha Chandi Yagam” on a bigger scale that would dwarf Naidu’s Amaravati function.
He has reportedly instructed the authorities to mobilise Vedic pundits from across all parts of Telangana and some even from Andhra, so that all of them would perform 1,000 homams simultaneously at one place.
While Amaravati function was just a two-hour affair, KCR wants to sustain the Chandi Yagam for 10 days, so that it would become talk of the country.
The Telangana Chief Minister has already invited national leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the yagam.
He is also planning invite Naidu and his team, as reciprocating gesture. He would also invite spiritual leaders from across the nation so that it would attract the attention of national media.
Though there has been no estimate of expenditure so far, it is learnt KCR is ready to spend even Rs 100 crore on the programme.
