In a strategic move, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday hosted a civic reception to Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, a senior BJP leader and showered praised on him for his role in the Telangana movement. In return, Vidyasaga Rao, too, lavished praises on KCR for leading the Telangana movement.
The bonhomie between KCR and Vidyasagar Rao raised many an eyebrow. One wondered whether it was because both hail from the same caste, or there was any political strategy behind the fecilitation.
KCR praised that Vidyasagar Rao had played a pivotal role in Telangana movement for achieving statehood.
He expressed happiness over Vidyasagar Rao becoming the Governor of Maharashtra, a neighbouring State of Telangana.
He said Telangana was honored with the elevation of Vidyasagar Rao as Governor after bifurcation of united AP.
“I have three decades of relationship with Rao and we together fought for the cause of Telangana statehood”, the Chief Minister noted. KCR also said Vidyasagar Rao will be bestowed with similar honor and scale similar scales in future.
On the other hand, the Maharashtra Governor thanked KCR for felicitating him on behalf of the Telangana State Government.
He praised KCR many times for championing the cause of Telangana during the movement. He called upon the leaders to put in joint efforts for the development of the Telangana State.
