Remember the story of Lord Krishna, who granted huge wealth to his childhood friend Sudhama (Kuchela), a poor Brahmin, who came to meet him and offered him a fist of “atukulu”?
Well, for a while, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao also played Lord Krishna for his childhood friend Bala Pochaiah.
It happened on Sunday, when KCR went to Raj Bhavan to greet Governor E S L Narasimhan on the occasion of World Yoga Day. There, he came across Bala Pochaiah, who also hailed from his native village.
Both KCR and Bala Pochaiah were thick friends since childhood and they worked together in the Youth Congress in their early days of politics.
Now, KCR is Chief Minister of Telangana, while Bala Pochaiah remained in a poor state but still working in the Congress party.
On seeing his friend, KCR came to him and hugged him affectionately. Both had a hearty talk and KCR enquired as to what Pochaiah was doing now. On realising the condition of his friend, KCR asked him to meet him again at his camp office and offered him a plum post in the party. Bala Pochaiah’s happiness knew no bounds!
