It's not only AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu who is facing the heat of reservations over Kapu reservations issue but Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar too started feeling the heat of reservations now.
It may be recalled that KCR had promised 12 per cent reservations for Muslims and Scheduled Tribes in jobs and education opportunities in Telangana during 2014 Assembly elections.
He had also included this in TRS party's manifesto stating that he will implement 12 per cent quota soon after coming to power in Telangana like Chandrababu promised for Kapus in AP during 2014 elections.
But 20 months have passed since he became CM but KCR failed to make any progress on this issue.
Minorities and STs are now angry at KCR for not fulfilling his poll promise so far except appointing commissions and committees to study on these issues like Chandrababu did in case of Kapus.
Now minority and ST leaders in Telangana are planning to hold massive agitation programmes along the lines of Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham demanding 12 per cent quota.
In fact, senior Congress leader and Leader of opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohd Shabbir Ali is planning to sit on indefinite strike in Shadnagar in Mahabubnagar soon, from where KCR had first promised 12 per cent quota for Muslims in April 2014.
It was during Shabbir Ali's term as minority welfare minister in YSR's cabinet, the 4 per cent quota for Muslims was introduced.
