For the last 24 hours, the social media and a section of digital media have been agog with rumours that Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is going to send all senior leaders of his party, including MLAs, MLCs and others on a foreign tour soon.
According to these reports, the BRS leaders would leave for foreign tours in batches, starting next week. They would go on the tour for a couple of weeks and they would be joined by BRS working president K T Rama Rao.
The purpose of this tour is causing suspicion, as KCR had never entertained his party MLAs and MLCs and other leaders like this in the past.
One section predicted that it could be the strategy to prevent exodus of his party leaders into the Congress.
“Apart from providing them some kind of entertainment and relief, the BRS leadership is planning to brainwash them against being poached by the Congress leadership, so that they would stay back in the party,” a report said.
Another report said KCR was contemplating either merging his party with the Bharatiya Janata Party or joining the NDA as a reliable partner, so as to wriggle out of the troubles and checkmate the Congress.
“This may be briefed to the party leaders during the foreign tour, so that they would not create an issue in Hyderabad,” the report said.
KTR, however, denied these rumours. He said the BRS had withstood sabotage by hundreds of leaders and stood strong with resilience and devotion, despite thousands of such malicious propagandists.
“We fought tirelessly, and we achieved and built a state that has become a beacon of progress and pride. A state that others aspire to emulate. Because millions of hearts beat together for one identity and emotion – Telangana,” he said.
He said for all those spreading baseless rumors with hidden agendas, he was issuing a final warning.
“Publish a rejoinder to your malicious lies against the BRS, or face legal action,” he said.
