![KCR Stirred Hornet's Nest With New Districts?](https://www.greatandhra.com/newphotos9/ga_politics1611037702.jpeg)
Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao might be claiming that the people of the state are extremely happy, while the Opposition parties are unhappy, with the formation of 31 new districts. But analysts say KCR could only be stirring the hornet’s nest.
Many TRS leaders themselves at the ground level are expressing view in private that there would have been some logic, if six or at the most 10 additional districts are created, but KCR went on adding one district after the other to increase the number to 31, most of them only for political exigencies.
No rational method was followed in allocation of mandals and revenue divisions to the new districts.
“For example, Alampur is closer to Gadwal, but it has been included in Wanaparthy district. And the name of the deity of Alampur – Jogulamba, has been given to Gadwal. Similarly, Jangaon in Warangal is made into a new district, but its crucial mandals like Cheryal have been included in Siddipet district. Kodangal assembly constituency has been divided in such a way that some of them are included in Vikarabad district and others in Ranga Reddy. As a result, people have lost touch with Mahbubnagar,” a source said.
Now that the chief minister himself increased the number to 21, more and more demands are coming out from various parts for new districts.
There has been demand for Huzurabad district which is now becoming part of Hanmakonda. Similarly, there are demands for Mulug tribal district, Miryalguda district and Narayanpet district.
Let us see how KCR will tackle these demands.
