Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA from Mahbubabad Shankar Naik came under fire from party boss and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for allegedly misbehaving with Mahbubabad collector Preeti Meena on Wednesday.
Visuals show Naik pulling the shoulder of Preeti Meena during the tree plantation as part of Haritha Haaram programme.
She took offended and complained the matter to Chief Secretary, who in turn brought to the notice of the chief minister.
On knowing this, KCR got annoyed and took the MLA to task for his misbehaviour.
He expressed his regrets and anguish over the incident and instructed the MLA to personally meet the Collector and tender an unconditional apology.
KCR also warned the MLA that if he did not change his behaviour he would be suspended from the party.
He asked Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari and MP Sitaram Naik to speak to the Collector and settle the matter on behalf of the Government and TRS. The CM said such incidents should not reoccur.
Naik clarified that there are hundreds of people at Haritha Haaram programme and this issue has happened in public and that too involuntarily.
He explained that he was also an educated person, with sisters and wife and clarified that there were no wrong intentions behind touching the Collector.
