With the Telangana State Cabinet headed by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao coming out with an official announcement on waiver of crop loans in the State, his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu has come under tremendous pressure to take a similar decision.
So far, Naidu has only been talking on crop loan waiver, but his government has not come out with any decision so far, despite the fact that the Kharif season has already commenced.
On Thursday, too, Naidu only reiterated his commitment to waive the farmers’ loans and assured to protect their interests.
The TDP president sought to blame it on the poor financial position of the State for not taking immediate decision. He said there was a severe financial crunch the State. “Yet, we will keep our word by waiving off loans of the farmers,” he said.
And as usual, Naidu resorted to his typical rhetoric. “I will work for the people till my last drop of blood”.
