Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief and Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhara Rao seems to be wooing the Reddy community more; obviously, he wants to pacify the community which feels ignored after the debacle of the Congress party.
KCR had accommodated four Reddys in the first phase of Cabinet and is planning to include more in the next expansion.
On Tuesday, KCR made Mahbubnagar MP A Jithender Reddy as the TRS floor leader in Lok Sabha, ignoring more talented Kadiam Srihari, a Dalit. Srihari was given the post of party whip in Lok Sabha, while KCR’s loyalist B Vinod Kumar has been made deputy floor leader.
Speaking to the media in Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday, Jitendar Reddy, who was once in the BJP, made it clear that his party would remain as a friendly party to the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
He assured that he would strive to fetch more funds and projects from the Centre with his cordial relations with the BJP top-brass. He also disclosed that they would invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Telangana State at the earliest.
The TRS president also appointed party secretary-general and Rajya Sabha member Dr K. Keshav Rao as TRS Parliamentary Party leader.
