KCR, Naidu Go Soft On Each Other!

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu continued to display their new-found friendship, even when they are required to attack each other in the run-up to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections.

KCR did not address any election rallies but held a crowded press conference at Telangana Bhavan to explain his government’s achievements, while Naidu has been addressing a few rallies in Seemandhra-dominated areas of Hyderabad.

However, both the leaders chose to go soft on each other and refrained from making pungent comments, as they used to do in the past.

Though media persons tried to provoke KCR to attack Naidu, the TRS president did not fall into their trap. All that he said was to question Naidu’s contribution to Hyderabad.

“Naidu should explain what he had done to Hyderabad during his nine-year rule. What business does he have to talk about Hyderabad? It is better he concentrate on the development of Amaravati,” he said, adding that he would continue to maintain “constitutional” relationship with Naidu government for the benefit of the Telugu people.

On the other hand, Naidu also focused more on what the TDP had done to bring Hyderabad on to the global map during his regime in the past.

While claiming credit for all the ongoing projects including Outer Ring Road and Hyderabad Metro Rail, he made a passing criticism against the TRS government stating that it was deliberately delaying the project.

“Had TDP been in power, it would have been completed within three years,” he said.

Interestingly, Naidu praised TRS for changing its stand towards settlers and said people from others regions had played a major role in development of Hyderabad.
