It has been nearly nine months since Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao took over as Chief Minister of the newly-formed Telangana State and he seems to have learnt how to lead luxurious life by lavishly spending public money.
According to the documents gathered by the Telangana Congress leaders, the Chief Minister had spent Rs 27.93 crore to purchase 70 new bullet-proof vehicles and changed his entire convoy. Crores of rupees were spent in the name of renovation and repair of his camp office and Chief Minister's office at the State Secretariat.
An amount of Rs 9.8 lakh was spent only to widen a small stretch of road in the State Secretariat to facilitate easy movement of Chief Minister's car.
After spending over Rs 1crore, KCR disliked the entire Secretariat citing "Vaasthu Dosham" and has now decided to shift the same to Erragadda, he said.
What is more, whenever KCR goes to Delhi, he does not stay in Andhra Pradesh Bhavan, a part of which is now under the control of the Telangana government.
Instead, he has been staying in the Presidential Suite of Ashoka Hotel by paying a daily rent of Rs 1.5 lakh plus taxes. Compared to him, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu prefers to stay in AP Bhavan itself, Congress leaders said.
