It looks like Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and first Chief Minister of Telangana Kalwakuntla Chandrasekhara Rao lacks the basic diplomacy required for a statesman-like political leader. Instead, he displayed his narrow-minded attitude on the Day One itself.
If KCR has any goodwill, he should have invited all the top Central leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, vice-president Rahul Gandhi, present and past Union ministers who had contributed to the formation of Telangana, to his swearing-in ceremony.
After all, one cannot ignore the fact that Telangana would not have become a reality without the will of Sonia and support of BJP leaders. But the TRS president had not shown any gratitude.
At the same time, he also deliberately ignored inviting Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram and Namasthe Telangana CMD C L Rajam, who had made immense contribution to the Telangana formation. Several other JAC leaders also did not find a place in the invitees’ list. This shows KCR’s narrow-mindedness.
Here one would recall how Prime Minister Narendra Modi had shown magnanimity in extending invitation to all the leaders, irrespective of their stature and party, to his swearing-in ceremony. He had also invited Prime Minister of Pakistan, India’s bitter enemy, Nawaz Sharif to the ceremony, besides heads of all SAARC countries. That showed his statesmanship.
Even crooked politician like TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu is inviting all major leaders, including PM and CMs of 11 States, to his oath taking ceremony at Guntur on October 8. He is also planning to invite YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. That is the true quality of a leader!
