Suspense over the expansion of the KCR Cabinet is keeping the aspirants for a ministerial berth in the ruling TRS virtually on tenterhooks these days.
There were speculations that the Chief Minister would expand his cabinet and induct some new members as a Diwali gift.
However, the festival of lights has come and gone and still there was no sign of the Chief Minister fixing a muhurath.
Now it is being talked in political circles that the much-delayed cabinet expansion would take place before the commencement of the budget session of the Assembly from November 5.
When the Chief Minister called on the Governor on Sunday, hopes were raised among the aspirants that KCR would discuss and finalize the date for the ministry expansion.
However the meeting between the Governor and Chief Minister turned out to be only a damp squib as for as the TRS members were concerned as firm announcement regarding the date for the cabinet expansion was not made from Raj Bhavan.
Since the Assembly session would commence in the middle of next week, ministerial aspirants are keeping their fingers crossed that an announcement on the cabinet expansion might be made any time during the coming few days.
But with KCR maintaining a stoic silence , the expansion of the cabinet is seeped in suspense leading to tension among the aspirants.
KCR, after having dropped hints about expanding his 12-member ministry, has been keeping the names of the new members to be inducted and also the auspicious date for proposed expansion a closely guarded secret, and thus forcing many waiting in the wings for a berth to spend sleepless nights.
