KCR house ready, what about 2BHK houses?

KCR house ready, what about 2BHK houses?

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is all set to enter his new residence-cum-camp office at Begumpet in the early hours of Thursday, amidst chanting of vedic hymns, homams and blessings from Sri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy.

The building complex, constructed at a cost of nearly Rs 50 crore, was built in a record time of six months with high security features and even bullet proof facilities. Hundreds of security personnel would be guarding it round-the-clock.

So far so good. It is essential that the chief minister of a state has to have such a facility. But what about millions of people who were promised with double-bedroom houses?

Apparently, the scheme has been going on at a snail pace due to paucity of funds. In Hyderabad alone, KCR promised to construct one lakh double-bed room houses, but so far only 900 houses were constructed.

And soon after taking over as chief minister, KCR had also laid foundation stone for Banjara Bhavan, Christian Bhavan and Kumram Bheem Bhavan.

Now, only stones remain there with not a single brick being moved so far. “This is bound to draw criticism from all quarters,” an opposition leader said.
