![KCR Gives No Breathing Time For Rival Parties!](https://www.greatandhra.com/newphotos9/ga_politics1611037702.jpeg)
In a big shock to the Congress and the BJP-TDP combine, which are getting ready to fight the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, the Telangana government on Monday issued a notification restricting the election process to just 15 days.
According to the notification amending the GHMC Act, 1955, polling for the GHMC elections will be held within 15 days from the closure of nominations. And only three days are allocated for filing of nominations, one day for scrutiny and one day for withdrawal.
It does mean, only nine days are left for the polling after the nomination process and only seven days are given for the parties to campaign, since no campaign is allowed two days before the polling.
The notification has come as a rude shock to the Opposition parties, since there is hardly any time for them to select candidates and give B-forms to them.
Compared to the Congress, the BJP and the TDP, the TRS and the MIM are better placed, as they have almost finalized their candidates already.
Especially for the TDP and the BJP, it is a difficult situation, as they have not yet come to an understanding on seat sharing and which seats should be allocated to which party.
And it is extremely impossible for them to select candidates and make them file their nominations within three days. They have to hurry through the selection process, which will only result in clashes and confusion.
