Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Thursday alleged that the Warangal Lok Sabha by-election is just because of corrupt practices of the ruling government and deliberate mistake by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to benefit a defector Kadiam Srihari by replacing then deputy chief minister T Rajaiah due to a scam.
TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that the Warangal byelection was the result of non-governance of KCR and self-interest of his own people.
He asked the Chief Minister about the scam status and removal of Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah.
Stating that the ruling party has started Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme with an estimation of Rs 35,250 crore for three districts, Bhatti said in case Pranahitha-Chevella project gets finished, one can comfortably address the drinking water needs of eight districts.
“We do not see any additional need of Water Grid project by spending additional money from State’s Exchequer an amount of Rs 36,000 crore in case Pranahitha-Chevella project gets completed”, he said.
He alleged that this is not only a duplication of the projects but also looting people money with a specific interest of benefitting his (KCR) son KTR.
It is only to help “pipes” manufacturing companies and a few of their favored contract companies and to swindle Telangana people’s money to allow KTR to loot State’s Exchequer. He made it clear that the Congress party will not allow this to happen.
“We will safeguard the people’s money and the interests of the State”, he added.
