KCR firm on channels blackout

The meek protests by opposition parties has emboldened the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government headed by K Chandrasekhara Rao to remain firm on blacking out the two television channels – TV9 and ABN-Andhra Jyothy.

For the fourth consecutive day, both the channels continued to be off the air in the Telangana region, including Hyderabad, except on digital platforms. And the TRS leaders remained cold when media persons raised this question before them.

Minister for Information Technology of Telangana K Taraka Ramarao (KTR) on Thursday made it clear that the State government had nothing to do with the decision of the Telangana MSOs to stop programs of two Telugu news channels.

KTR told media that it was not proper to attribute the decision of the Telangana MSOs to the government. He suggested that the managements of two news channels hold discussions with MSOs to resolve the issue.
