Ever since the Praveen Rao episode involving illegal occupation of big piece of land at Budwel of Rajendranagar mandal in Hyderabad came to light, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s family has come under cloud.
There are allegations that the family members of KCR, including son K T Rama Rao and nephew T Harish Rao, have been resorting to land encroachments and acquisition of huge properties in and around Hyderabad, besides several parts of Telangana.
However, so far, their names have not surfaced anywhere, as they are allegedly operating through their benamis.
Since Praveen Rao happens to be a close relative of KCR, the allegations have gained credence.
It is alleged that Praveen Rao was a benami of Harish Rao. Similarly, several TRS leaders in the Telangana have become super-rich overnight, but actually, they are said to be only trustees of KCR family members, say sources.
“They are able to get away because not a single story about these benamis appears in any of the media. Even big papers like Eenadu and Sakshi have become silent as they are openly supporting KCR. Only Andhra Jyothy writes slightly negative stories about such illegal deals, but the daily has no credibility because it blatantly a pro-Telugu Desam Party paper,” sources said.
