KCR Drops Plan To Celebrate Half-Way Mark?

If reports coming from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi are to be believed, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided against celebrating the half-way mark of his government’s five year term because of the demonetisation effect.

Originally, KCR is learnt to have instructed his party leaders and cadre to hold massive celebrations of the completion of the TRS government’s midterm so as to sustain the Telangana sentiment for the coming days.

KCR himself planned a huge public meeting at Secunderabad parade grounds and explain the achievements of his government to the public so far. His intention was obviously to counter the opposition criticism against non-implementation of various promises.

However, with the Narendra Modi government banning 500/100 rupee notes, the situation has become completely reverse.

The people are on streets struggling to get liquid cash, standing in front of banks and ATMs. The economy came to a standstill and common man is facing several problems.

Under these circumstances, if the government holds celebrations, it will be counter-productive to the TRS. Hence, KCR remained silent, say sources.
