That the Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is moving closer to the Bharatiya Janata Party was evident from the way he chose to celebrate his 61st birthday in the company of BJP leaders on Tuesday.
KCR had no other reason to go to Mumbai, except to avoid questions on his latest bonhomie with the BJP leadership.
On Sunday, he attended the wedding reception of BJP national president Amit Shah’s son Jai Shah in New Delhi, along with his daughter K Kavitha. Interestingly, KCR was the only non-NDA leader in the entire country to attend Shah’s reception.
On Monday, he had one-on-one with Prime Minister Narendra Modi where he reportedly discussed the issue of the TRS joining the NDA sooner or later.
On Tuesday, the TRS supremo celebrated his birthday at Mumbai Raj Bhavan, in the presence of Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, who is incidentally a senior BJP leader from Karimnagar district. Later, he met Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.
“It clearly shows KCR’s overtures towards the BJP and very soon, we shall listen to the news of the TRS joining the NDA,” a source said.
