Jana Sena Party president and actor Pawan Kalyan, who has been in a state of confusion as to how to go about in the ensuing general elections to Andhra Pradesh assembly and Lok Sabha, is said to have got a thorough brainwashing from Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Pawan had spent a considerable amount of time with KCR at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday, where Governor E S L Narasimhan hosted customary “At Home” on the occasion of Republic Day.
The TRS chief is learnt to have explained in detail why his party had taken an anti-Telugu Desam Party stand and why he is joining hands with the YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
He gave his piece of mind on the proposed third front of regional parties at the national level and explained to him that there was a need to defeat the TDP in Andhra Pradesh to accomplish this objective.
Pawan has been opposing the tie-up between the TRS and YSRC and any attempt to join this group would be detrimental to his political interests.
He is apprehensive that the entry of TRS into Andhra politics would only help the TDP. That is why, Pawan made some serious comments on the TRS during his recent metings.
KCR, who is aware of Pawan’s stand, sought to convince him on why he had taken such a stand.
He assured that he would not make a direct entry into Andhra politics, but would create troubles for the TDP sitting in Hyderabad. Apparently, KCR is planning to target sections which are favourable to the TDP and change their mind.
“Whether it would help Jagan or Pawan will depend on how the people would respond. But the objective is to ensure that Naidu will not come to power again in AP,” a TRS source said.
