Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao is fondly called by Opposition parties as a "U-turn Chief Minister".
Thanks to several "U-turns" he took on his own decisions in 2015, he became famous as "U-turn CM".
Be it shifting of Secretariat to Erragadda and again to Bison Polo Ground in Secunderabad, building of skyscrapers around Hussain Sagar, emptying Hussain Sagar lake, constructing Vinayak Sagar in Indira Park for immersion of idols, construction of bhavans for various sections like BCs, SCs, STs, Minorities, Christians, shifting of Malakpet Race Course and Chanchalguda jail etc, he made several announcements in this regard but took U-turn later.
While this was the situation in 2015, the TRS leaders expected him to remain stick to his words at least in 2016 and they were told that the New Year resolution of KCR was not to take U-turn and implement what he said.
But to their shock, KCR started his journey in the New Year 2016, with "U-turn" on the very first working day of New Year on January 2, after January 1 was declared a public holiday to celebrate New Year.
KCR, who held a marathon 12-hour long cabinet meeting on January 2 is learnt to have taken a decision to hold Budget session of Legislative Assembly as usual in March against his earlier announcement of advancing the session to January last week.
KCR boasted of presenting state budget ahead of Centre's budget and setting a new trend in the country this year. However, he withdrew it later after officials told him that it would not be possible to prepare the budget before Centre's budget without knowing the allocations it makes to states in its budget.
Opposition parties have already started counting U-turns of KCR for New Year 2016 as he took U-turn on the very first working day of 2016.
