Telangana Rashtra Samithi president, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao appears to be playing a clever and safe game with regard to his party’s association with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
On Saturday, KCR was all praise for BJP in general and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in particular for trying to strengthen the States through Niti Ayog.
He said after the BJP came to power at the Centre, the States were getting benefitted. The Prime Minister had come up with innovative idea of NITI Ayog replacing the decades long Planning Commission to strengthen the states to take up their own schemes and programs he said.
“Modi’s programme will sure prove handy to the states to be on growth trajectory,” he said.
The Chief Minister alleged that previous Planning Commission had been treating the Chief Ministers as beggars when they sought funds for the States. A meeting of MLAs, MLCs will be called soon to take a final call on leading a delegation to Delhi,” he said.
Apparently, KCR has got an assurance from Modi that if the former continued to maintain good relations with the Centre, his TRS would get due share of power in the NDA in the coming days. But Modi asked KCR to have patience and move his pawns strategically, sources said.
