KCR Aiming At National Politics?

If speculations doing rounds in the media circles are to be believed, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is aiming at national politics after 2019, a role which former chief ministers N T Rama Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu tried to play unsuccessfully.

According to the talk going on in the media circles, KCR wants to entrust the responsibility of the handing the state administration to his son K T Rama Rao before 2019 elections itself and focus on the national politics.

He is said to be already in touch with leaders like Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Yadav, Laloo Prasad, Nitish Kumar, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Ram Vilas Paswan to float an anti-Congress and anti-BJP political force. May be one can call it a third front as well.

Since most of these parties do not want to involve the Communist Parties, they can be kept at bay. If willing, YSR Congress party may also join this third front bandwagon. Sources said KCR would take the lead in consolidating all these parties to form a powerful front.

“Unlike in the past when the third front experiment failed because of the selfish politics of the parties, KCR would take all steps to see that it will not fizzle out this time,” sources said.

In the past, the third front proposal was mainly to counter the Congress party, when the BJP was not so powerful.

“But now, the BJP is fast expanding to all parts of the country. If it is not stopped, it will pose a threat to the secular fabric of the nation. Hence, the third front will be definitely stronger than the one in the past and with KCR at the helm of affairs, it would be a big success,” an analyst observed.

If that happens, it would lead to interesting chances in political scenario in the country, say analysts. Let us wait and see.
