Union Minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao on Saturday asserted that he was not averse to formation of Telangana State.
He told media that the Group of Ministers firmly had stated that division was imminent. Therefore, the Seemandhra ministers were seeking equal justice to the rest of the State.
“We were denied a chance to go through the content of the draft bill for two days, which was debated as a table item, despite ignoring our demands like UT, merger of Bhadrachalam into East Godavari and equal justice”, he deplored.
He lamented that the Centre totally ignored their argument on the losses to be incurred to Seemandhra after bifurcation.
He said they could have convinced the Seemandhra people for bifurcation if Hyderabad was accorded a UT status for 10 years and divide like brothers if equal justice was done to both regions.
“God only knows whether the Centre has any match fixing in this regard”, he said, adding that the decision of bifurcation was not correct.
