Union Textiles Minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, a strong votary of United Andhra Pradesh, appears to have given up his fight.
On Wednesday, Kavuri said that the Centre would take a decision on the status of Hyderabad city, as it had already made up its mind to divide the state.
“The bifurcation of the state is imminent and the Centre is only thinking on the status of Hyderabad,” he said.
It may be recalled that the Seemandhra leaders were stating that they had developed Hyderabad and hence they were demanding the centre to make Hyderabad as a union territory or permanent joint capital.
The Telangana protagonists were demanding that they will not accept the separate Telangana state without Hyderabad city.
