Young YSR Congress party leader from West Godavsari Karumuri Sunil Kumar Yadav is going to head the social media wing of the party in place of Sajjala Bhargav Reddy, party sources said.
According to these sources, Sunil, who hails from the Backward Classes community, was handpicked by YSRCP president and former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy after examining the enthusiasm, talent and active participation in the party activities, apart from the caste equation.
Sunil Kumar Yadav is the son of senior YSRCP leader and former minister Karumuri Nageshwara Rao.
He was given the party ticket from Eluru Lok Sabha seat as the then sitting MP Kotagiri Sridhar was not interested in contesting.
At the same time, Sunil has been a trusted soldier of the party and being a social media enthusiast, the party believed that he would be able handle the wing effectively.
He was given strict instructions that instead of blindly posting the messages without any basis, he should be able to cross-check the facts first before posting the same, sources said.
Initially, there were reports that Jagan has identified Nagarjuna Yadav from Narasaraopet as the head of the social media wing, but finally, he preferred Sunil Kumar Yadav, sources added.
