Chennai: The BJP is definitely looking to shore up its presence down South in a big way and the Amit Shah-Modi combine plans to rope in top celebrities into their fold for its purpose.
Rajnikanth being given the ‘Padma Vibhushan’ has once again given rise to speculation that the BJP has not given up on their efforts to make him their Chief Ministerial candidate. If that happens, it would be a huge shot in the arm for the party.
The only opposition could come from actor Vijaykanth whose party is in alliance with the NDA.
Vijaykanth wants to be the chief minister but if Rajni agrees to join the BJP, then Vijaykanth will have to make way for he does not have the fan following of Rajini.
