Just Political Mercenaries!

Just Political Mercenaries!

The digital revolution has thrown up a new brand of mercenaries who lend their services to political parties and help them come to power.

However, they profess to be crusaders of corruption and agents of change for a new India.

Undoubtedly, the most successful of all such outfits which have mushroomed in the last decade is Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) founded by Prashant Kishore.

They first came to prominence after working for Narendra Modi in the 2014 general elections.

I-PAC claims that it is a cross-party advocacy group which endeavors to support the election of visionary, progressive and inclusive leaders to public offices.

This is a really absurd mission statement and merely a euphemism for saying that it will help any political party come to power on receipt of a certain fee.

How else can one explain the same outfit working for for Congress in Uttar Pradesh and now YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh? None of these parties have anything in common.

Without an ideological basis to their outfit, how can organizations such as I-PAC profess that their work has revolutionized the domain of political advocacy by providing a platform to young professionals to partake in the Indian political system and contribute meaningfully in setting the agenda for incoming governments?

Pray, in what way have your employees contributed to setting the agenda either for BJP in 2014, or for Congress in Uttar Pradeshr?

A terrorist in Kashmir fights for money. He has no conviction or believes in the cause he is fighting for. Usually sourced from Afghanistan or other nations, his only lure is money. Such kinds of terrorists are called mercenaries. And I-PAC and its likes are just that.

A bunch of educated, political mercenaries who will fight for anyone! Then, why all this nonsense about setting the agenda etc instead of being honest and calling themselves a PR firm?
