Joke: Naidu preaching morals in politics!

The other day, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has called for integrity and morals in politics. He expressed anguish over the declining values in politics.

However, what he has forgotten is that Naidu himself has resorted to degradation of politics by encouraging defections from the opposition parties. This was pointed out by YSR Congress party on Tuesday.

Ridiculing Chandrababu Naidu for his talk on electoral reforms and the role of money in elections, YSR Congress party official spokesperson Vasireddy Padma challenged that Naidu go for by-elections disqualifying all the turncoats who joined his party.

“Chandrababu Naidu telling people have won seats by money power is ridiculous as it was he who has bought 21 MLAs from the Opposition party into his party fold and the cash for vote case in Telangana state is a clear example of the modus operandi,” Padma said.

The state knows who started off with two acres of land and stashed crores of rupees and how the MLAs from opposition party were lured. Now Chandrababu Naidu speaking of morals is ridiculous and we demand that he disqualify all the people who defected to his party and go for by-poll and win the election with a solemn pledge that not a single rupee would be spent.

“It was the Chief Minister who has engineered defections and now he talks about such morals shamelessly. Should he have any guts we shall seek people’s verdict in the by polls,” she said.
