New Delhi: Jeevita and Rajasekhar have formally joined BJP. They were inducted into the party in the presence of party’s national president Rajnath Singh.
The country is witnessing a wave of Narendra Modi’s growing popularity and many were contemplating joining the BJP and the filmi couple is one among them.
Though they have stayed away from politics for a while now, they took the plunge seeing the increasing popularity of Modi.
Earlier, it was said that they would join the Congress. But in the wake of opposition regarding the bifurcation issue, they changed their decision.
They also tried to get into the TDP, but some of the party members did not like it. So, they stayed out of politics since then.
Recently, BJP held a workshop for their south Indian leaders in Hyderabad regarding the installation of Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s statue in Gujarat. Jeevita and Rajasekhar were also part of the workshop.
Talk is that they have been inclined towards the BJP since then, though they have officially joined the party only today.
It is a known fact that veteran actor Krishnam Raju is already a BJP member.
