Former minister and senior Congress MLA J C Diwakar Reddy and his brother J C Prabhakar Reddy seem to be eyeing on Telugu Desam Party to secure their future, as the Congress party is going to face a severe debacle in the next elections.
Prabhakar Reddy, in fact, did not hide his plans when he spoke to media in Hyderabad on Wednesday. He said he and his brother had good relations with TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and actor Nandmuri Balakrishna, and there was no need to be afraid of anybody if they wanted to join the TDP.
He said going by the prevailing situation, the Congress party was not going to recover in Seemandhra for another 25 years.
“Though we have good relations with Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh and Balakrishna, still we are in a dilemma about joining the TDP”, he said.
Prabhakar Reddy, however, said Diwakar Reddy had not made up his mind to quit the Congress as yet.
““Our supporters and sympathisers are pressuring us for joining another party. In case we want to join the TDP, there is no question of being afraid of anybody,” he said.
