Rayalaseema Congress leader and former minister JC Diwakar Reddy on Wednesday demanded that the Centre make Macherla town in Guntur district as capital of residuary Andhra Pradesh State after bifurcation.
Speaking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party office here, Diwakar Reddy said Macherla was an ideal location for the capital of Seemandhra as it was equidistant from all the regions.
He appealed to PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana to take steps in this regard.
He also slammed Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana for deliberately keeping the State bifurcation issue in the dark even though they knew it earlier.
“They are great leaders of the State and together played dramas like two thieves”, he criticized.
He also accused all the Union Ministers from Seemandhra of knowing fully well about imminence of Telangana State but intentionally misleading people by talking about Samaikyandhra. They should have informed the people about the bifurcation in advance, he added.
