Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s attempt to settle the dispute between former MLA J C Prabhakar Reddy and Bharatiya Janata Party MLA C Adinarayana Reddy over fly ash transportation from Rayalaseema Thermal Power Plant seems to have little impact.
Though Naidu called Adinarayana Reddy, his son Bhupesh Reddy and Prabhakar Reddy’s son Asmith Reddy separately and pulled them up for creating troubles for the alliance government, they have cared a damn for his warnings.
It appears leaders from factions in Anantapur and Kadapa districts are refusing to compromise on their demands, despite the intervention of Naidu.
On Tuesday, tensions once again flared up between the two factions – that of Adinarayana Reddy and Prabhakar Reddy, causing public outrage.
The dispute revolves around transporting fly ash powder from RTPP to Tadipatri, with the conflict brewing between the JC family and Adinarayana Reddy’s group.
Although discussions have been ongoing for three days, no resolution has been reached. There are reports that supporters of JC from Tadipatri are regrouping, prompting the police to heighten security.
As a precaution, police forces have been deployed, and a checkpoint has been set up in Kondapuram Mandal, which borders Anantapur and Kadapa districts.
The feud between the JC family and Adinarayana Reddy involves disagreements over the transport of fly ash powder from RTPP. The disagreement stems from a lack of consensus on the terms for transporting fly ash.
RTPP falls within the Jammalamadugu constituency, and Adinarayana Reddy believes that all activities in the area should occur under his supervision.
However, vehicles from JC Diwakar Reddy’s faction have been transporting fly ash from RTPP to cement industries in the Tadipatri constituency.
As no agreement has been reached, Adinarayana Reddy’s group is determined not to allow JC Diwakar Reddy’s vehicles to access RTPP under any circumstances.
