Jayasudha Joins TDP, To Shift To Andhra

Tollywood actress-turned-Congress leader and former Secunderabad MLA Jayasudha on Saturday quit the Congress party and joined the Telugu Desam Party in the presence of party president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Vijayawada.

Jayasudha had embraced Congress party and successfully contested from Secunderabad Assembly constituency during the united Andhra Pradesh in 2009. However, she tasted defeat in the 2014 elections. She remained politically in active for some time past.

In view of the changed political situation after bifurcation of the united Andhra Pradesh and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi capturing power in the infant Telangana State, Jayasudha has felt that she has no future in the Congress party and it is better to join the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh.

Sources said Jayasudha might move to Andhra Pradesh to test her political fortunes, rather than remaining in Secunderabad.

Apparently, TDP MP Murali Mohan has played a key role in bringing her into the TDP and in the next elections, she might choose one of the constituencies in East Godavari district.

“I have a lot of affinity towards coastal Andhra. I will follow the instructions of Naidu on my future politics,” she said.
