Jana Sena Party led by power star Pawan Kalyan is getting ready to say goodbye to its alliance partner Bharatiya Janata Party in the next three months, if the reports surfacing in a section of media are to be believed.
According to sources close to the party, the power star is not happy with the way the BJP leadership has been ignoring him and instead, giving priority to the ruling YSR Congress party led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
“Pawan did not get any personal invitation at the recent meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Bhimavaram. He was not consulted while the BJP national leadership spoke to Jagan on the YSRC support to the NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu,” sources close to Jana Sena said.
Even when BJP national president J P Nadda came to Rajahmundry to take part in Godavari Garjana sabha at Rajahmundry, Pawan had no invitation.
“He reportedly sought an appointment with Modi, but so far, there was no response from the Centre,” sources said.
Though the Jana Sena chief said his party and the BJP could not take up any joint programmes due to Covid-19 pandemic, there was no such effort even after the pandemic came to an end.
“There was no response to his three-option plan from the BJP. What is more, the BJP leaders criticised him for trying to rope in the TDP into the alliance,” the sources said.
Against this backdrop, Pawan is expected to come out with clarity on the alliance with the BJP much before the commencement of his bus yatra from October 5, on the occasion of Dasara.
“He may not disclose his plans to have an alliance with the TDP, but will go independently for the time being. After gaining his ground in the state, he will take a call on the alliance only before the next elections,” sources added.
