Jagan's Vain Bid To Woo CPI

YSR Congress Party President and Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Saturday made a vain bid to get the support of the CPI against bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Along with YSRCP leaders MV Mysoora Reddy, Konathala Ramakrishna and Gattu Ramachandra Rao, Jagan called on CPI national secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy in Delhi and sought his cooperation against the bifurcation.

Jagan submitted to Sudhakar Reddy a five-page letter and sought CPI support for keeping the state undivided, steps against the misuse of Article 3 of the Constitution and prevent the  Centre from implementing the  divide and rule policy.

However, Sudhakar Reddy refused to reverse his party stance on Telangana demand.

Instead, the CPI leader stressed the need for expediting the Telangana process which could not be prevented as the Statehood demand was justifiable.

He assured Jagan that the CPI would impress upon the Centre against misuse of Article 3 of the Constitution and do justice simultaneously to the residual state while carving out Telangana state.
