![Jagan's Open Claim Of CM Post To Backfire?](https://www.greatandhra.com/newphotos7/jagan81499686621.jpeg)
Every political leader, that too leader of a leading political party, has the desire of becoming the chief minister of his state one day or the other. And there is nothing wrong in having the ambition. After all, politics is meant for coming to power.
Going by this, there is nothing wrong in YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy aspiring to become the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
And there is also nothing wrong in fighting against the present ruling Telugu Desam Party. But expressing his desire to become so openly will send wrong signals to the people.
On the last day of the YSR Congress party plenary, Jagan could not hide his deep desire to become the chief minister.
“It is my strongest desire to become the chief minister of the state. And once I become the chief minister, I should be in the post for not less than 30 years. My dream is to see that people adorn my photo beside that of my father YSR on the wall and worship it,” Jagan said.
What is more surprising is that Jagan called upon his party workers to convey to the people that the chief minister was coming to meet them in soon, as part of padayatra.
He named his padayatra as “Anna Vasthunnadu” (Your brother is coming), but wanted that the party workers should go into the people with the slogan that “CM vosthunnadu” (chief minister is coming).
Analysts say Jagan’s comments only show his hunger for power and his eagerness to become the chief minister.
“That should not be the case. It is for the people to decide whether to make him the chief minister. All that Jagan should do is to expose the misdeeds and inefficient administration of the Chandrababu Naidu government and convince the people what he would do, if the YSRC comes to power.
He has to go with a positive frame of mind, rather than taking the people for granted with regard to making him the chief minister,” an analyst argued.
