Jagan's Fast Enters 5th Day

The YSR Congress Party President  Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's indefinite fast against the Centre’s unilateral decision to bifurcate the state entered fifth day on Wednesday and his health condition has been deteriorating by the day.

The doctors at the hunger strike camp declared that Jagan's blood sugar levels have dipped sharply.

A team of doctors from Osmania General Hospital examined Jagan at the hunger strike camp at his Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad.

Though his vital parameters are within permissible levels, he is suffering from dehydration, the doctors said.

Jagan complained of head ache and back pain for which doctors advised him to take fluids. His vital parameters read were: Blood Pressure 130/80, Sugar level 68 and Pulse Rate 70.

According to sources, his sugar levels have started dropping down and blood pressure fluctuating.

However, the Kadapa MP is determined to continue the hunger strike till the Central Government makes a climb down and withdraws its decision to split the state.

After Jagan commenced his fast, the Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu has followed the suit and chose Delhi for undertaking indefinite fast.

However, the authorities of the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan, where he is sitting on fast, have served a notice to him, asking him to vacate the premises as it is not meant for holding protest programmes.

Tension prevailed at AP Bhavan on Wednesday when the officials locked the main gate and did not allow the TDP activists into the premises.

Naidu and his team have been asked to vacate the place. It is likely that Naidu will shift the hunger strike camp to Jantar Mantar and continue the fast.
