A journalist-turned-advisor to the Andhra Pradesh government led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is believed to be acting like a super power in the government by flaunting abnormal powers which he doesn’t have.
There have been several complaints against this person, who joined the advisors’ camp of the chief minister after being stripped of a good position in a Telugu daily, that he has been behaving like an all-powerful official.
This advisor is supposed to give advices to the chief minister on the functioning of village and ward secretaries and also provide feedback on Spandana programme.
Taking advantage of this, he is said to be touring the villages in a convoy of vehicles, flaunting his powers and demanding various favours.
Sources said many party leaders and village/ward secretaries have been complaining to the party leadership and also higher officials against this advisor, who is trying to wield extraordinary powers in the villages.
The latest information is that this advisor has placed a request with the director general of police asking for high security for him with eight armed police forces in two shifts (4 plus 4).
“This does not mean he has any threat perception from anybody. He just wants to security cover for a show put-up and flaunt his powers. Nothing more than that,” a party leader said.
