YSR Congress President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and his mother and honorary president of the party Y S Vijayalaxmi had to face the ire of Telangana groups in Hyderabad and Nalgonda respectively on Thursday for their anti-Telangana stand.
When Jagan arrived at the CBI Special Court in Nampally in connection with the alleged disproportionate assets case, the pro-Telangana advocates greeted him with slogans of “Jai Telangana” and “Telangana Traitor Go Back.”
They even tried to block his entry into the premises.
There was tension for some time in the premises with YSR Congress supporters raising counter slogans.
The police intervened and prevented the situation from going out of hand.
Similarly, Vijayalxami who was planning to visit the flood affected areas in Nalgonda district, felt the Telangana heat with the separatists hurling eggs and stones on her convoy.
As she reached Konijerla village in the district, the pro-Telangana Congress workers shouted slogans: “Vijayamma go back” and threw eggs on her vehicle.
The police, who had made elaborate security arrangements in the Nalgonda-Khammam borders area with the separatists threatening to block her entry, immediately chased away the agitators.
She was later arrested by the police and not allowed to visit the flood-hit areas.
The Telangana agitators protesting against Vijayamma’s tour of flood affected areas in the district also damaged and destroyed the statues of late YSR in Neraducherla, LB Nagar and Dondapadu.
Unknown miscreants also set fire to YSR’s statue in Kodad town of the district.
