For the first time, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has publicly indulged in criticism of Pawan Kalyan.
Speaking after the Governor’s address in the Assembly, Jagan said, “Pawan Kalyan said one thing yesterday, another thing today and will say something else tomorrow. We should ask the people what Pawan Kalyan actually stands for.”
What Jagan meant was there was absolutely no clarity in what Pawan Kalyan was speaking.
Standing up for the farmers and giving the benefit of doubt to the government was sending contradictory signals and confusing the public.
But political analysts also opine that Jagan in commenting on Pawan Kalyan has actually given the latter more prominence.
For truth be told, Pawan Kalyan has nowhere half the charisma or political acumen of YS Jagan. All that Pawan Kalyan was able to do successfully was shift the Kapu vote bank to the TDP.
Going by the atrocities heaped by Naidu on the farmers in the name of development, it is highly unlikely that the Kapu community will vote for the TDP again.
Jagan might have given consideration to the huge turnouts at Pawan Kalyan’s speeches. A record number of people turned up for the inaugural of ‘Prajya Rajyam’. Ultimately, what was the fate of the Party?
