Jagan held secret talks with Rahul Gandhi?

If speculations doing rounds in the political circles are to be believed, YSR Congress party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is making serious attempts to join the INDIA bloc led by the Congress party sooner or later.

According to these speculations, Jagan had held several rounds of talks with senior Congress leader and deputy chief minister of Karnataka D K Shivakumar with regard to the YSRCP joining the INDIA bloc.

“That is precisely why Jagan has been regularly going to Bengaluru to do lobbying with Shivakumar,” these reports said.

There is a talk that Jagan had held secret talks with top Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi a few days ago (date and place not immediately known) and put forth the proposal.

While Rahul Gandhi had reportedly asked Jagan to merge his party with the Congress, so that he would have a wider support, Jagan did not agree with it but proposed that his party would join the INDIA bloc and taken on the NDA.

“There were no further discussions between the two, but Jagan seems to be keen on joining the INDIA bloc, so that he would get support from across the country, in the event of the NDA government at the Centre targeting him under pressure from the Telugu Desam Party,” sources said.

Apparently, Jagan has realised that he would no more get any protection from the Narendra Modi government as he had been getting all these years.

“Since there is every possibility that the CBI cases against him would get expedited, the TDP is keen on sending him to jail at the earliest. If he maintains a neutral stand, nobody would come to his rescue,” sources said.

If these speculations are true, it would be interesting to see what the stand of his sister and present APCC president Y S Sharmila would be.

Needless to say, she will put her foot firmly down, if the Congress high command wants to entertain him.
